Adobe Finish Application

Add 4-5 liters of water to a standard bag of 25 Kg Tierrafino Base. Mix well until a spreadable paste occurs.

Apply the first coat of Tierrafino Base at a thickness of approx. 10 mm thick. When this layer has dried somewhat, roughen up the surface with a glue comb or with a sponge to ensure a good mechanical key for subsequent layers. Let this first layer adobe finish dry completely before applying the next one.

Once the first layer adobe finish is dry, another coating can be applied of approx. 10 mm thick, now the surface can be smoothened with a trowel for a smoother adobe finish. Again the second layer of Tierrafino Base should be left to dry completely.
The drying time of Tierrafino Base depends on the surface used and other circumstances. Always dry Adobe Finish Tierrafino Base fast by using hot-air-dryers or building-lamps. Open a window slightly to let excess moisture leave the room.
After completely drying is the wall now ready to be treated with Tierrafino clay finish plaster.

Tierrafino Base is completely fireproof. The fire resistance of Tierrafino Base plastered on reed mats is conform TNO-regulation, NEN 6069 (28 mm thickness) 125 minutes.

Production of Tierrafino Base uses only a small amount of energy.

Acoustical properties

Reverb time in a room with coarsely finished walls of Tierrafino Base or Tierrafino clay plaster finish, will be reduced considerably.

Storage

Tierrafino Base is produced in PE sacks of 25 kg or in Big Bags. Tierrafino Base should be stored on pallets in a dry space, or outside under a plastic cover.
